Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers, sometimes called “porcelain laminates,” are thin porcelain shells that are permanently attached to the front surface of each tooth.

At Medley Smiles of Independence, we offer several dental veneer options including porcelain veneers. Independence cosmetic dentist Dr. Nicole Medley discusses how porcelain veneers can be a great solution to many dental problems, including chipped teeth, spaces, and stained teeth.

Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

  • Porcelain veneers are beautiful and perfectly natural looking
  • Porcelain is stronger and more durable than other types of veneers
  • Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant
  • Porcelain is ultra-thin, for a beautiful transparency
  • Long-lasting (porcelain veneers Houston typically last 10-20 years)

A Beautiful Smile in 2-3 Visits

Porcelain veneers are sometimes considered the ultimate treatment in cosmetic dentistry. Full-prep veneers are hand-sculpted and can be shaped to look exactly like a natural tooth. Porcelain also has a beautiful translucency, which reflects light exactly like your natural tooth enamel.

To allow for this transparency, some of your natural tooth surface must first be “prepped” or removed. For this reason, full-prep veneers are considered the “least conservative” of the veneer options.

Each tooth is prepared and impressions are taken in our Independence office. The impressions are sent to our laboratories in Idaho (not out of convenience but because they are that good!) where our excellent ceramists custom-design and build each veneer individually by hand.

Dr. Medley will then bond these ultra-thin porcelain veneers to your teeth, giving you a new, natural, beautiful smile.
